英语介词还可以表示进行，在作为表语时，at、on、under等可以表示正在进行的动作 。 如：sheisatwork.她正在工作 。

介词也可以表示原因，常用for等 。 在表示方法、手段的介词常用by，with，through等 。 表示数量的时候常用介词有about，around，over等 。
